an intimate date with San Sebastian Basilica, Sept 18 2010

FORSOAR organized a dinner date in San Sebastian to learn what we can do to help in the conservation of this unique and beautiful heritage structure, the only all-steel building in Asia where the first original image of Our Lady of Carmel from Spain is venerated today. At 109 years, the church is still very beautiful but is sadly rusting away. Tina Paterno, the conservateur of the project, appealed for all to help in whatever way. Fr. Provincial, Fr. Rex Bancaya, echoed this appeal. We sat with him and with Fr. Rene Paglinawam to discuss ways FORSOAR can help. Suggestions are most welcome. the Baste meeting that took a detour

We set up a meeting in Baste at 4 pm of Friday, Sept 10, a holiday. About 10 people had confirmed for this meeting and so Ariel went to the supermarket to cook dinner for them. But only half came: Felix, Tony C., Mark, Ariel and myself. After going over our agenda we decided a smaller kitchen like what I have at home would suffice for Ariel's cooking needs. So off we went to Taguig and finished the evening off with a different tasting chicken adobo with steamed rice and fresh fruit with yoghurt for dessert. Oh, we also had T5, the new version of Tanduay Light Rhum drizzled on the dessert. And elsewhere! Smooth! OK ba, Tony? More fine dining up ahead. We hope FORSOAR members will patronize our next meeting on the 18th and bring their friends.
